The learning curve for my 8 year old son was about 5 minutes who had figured out the "trim" functions and was able to fly this around the house like he had been doing it for years. The problem we had was the charge interface. There is a small charging wire that you pull out of a slide opening in the face of the remote. The wire then plugs in to a VERY small female receptor on the cockpit of the chopper. You need to make sure that the plug is pushed in the right direction, because you can push hard enough and make the plug go in either way...which I'm assuming is the reason our charger broke. We haven't been able to use it since (I'm in the midst of sending it back). We purchased this helicopter for my son's 13 birthday. He has thoroughly enjoyed it, and we have all marveled at what it can do. We purchased a different brand earlier, and it was broken in 5 minutes. This one has lasted. I guess it's little, therefore doesn't do all those things that the big ones do. It's a good sturdy little thing. My cat loves to play with it, he snatches it out of the air. It's sturdy enough to fall and not break. Most of the time it sits in the cupboard, because the battery needs charging. Overall it's an ok one, but if you are serious about flying helicopters, buy yourselves a bigger one. I am basically happy with it. It must take a lot of practice to fly it like the demo video showed. It can fly very high and has crashed many times without any damage. Thank you............. This toy is addicting! It's a lot of fun. My son got one as a gift last Christmas, but I don't believe his heli was foam or soft textured. The one I received is, and it kind of gives it a cheap looking appearance, but flies good all the same. Our track was a bit difficult to get together but once together it held up pretty well until my youngest snapped off the road divider. The car needs batteries and I can tell you these do not last long at all. But it is still cheap entertainment and fun for all ages. This product is a thrill for just about any child - I even enjoyed it while it lasted. The yellow hazard gate broke on it due to a accidental fall from my 3 year old. Would of loved if it was more durable, since without the yellow gate which makes the car turn onto the other track-it just crashes into the wall. Fortunetley, my husband could put a quick fix on it-- hopefully it lasts a little longer. I just don't like to keep broken toys around. When I saw the bargain price for this toy, I took the chance of buying it as a Christmas present for my 4-year-old son. I was already anticipating I would spend so much time in setting it up based on the review I have read. Surprisingly, it's more sturdy than I have anticipated. I followed the direction thoroughly and the playset is holding up. Both my kids love to play with this. We purchased the race track for our 3 year old for Christmas but it had to be returned because the little car didn't work. We received our replacement track and our son has been playing with it ever since. It isn't extremly durable, and I wouldn't recommend it for a child under 3. However, it probably wouldn't be very entertaining for a child 4 1/2 or older. The only times we have had a problem with the racecar getting stuck on the track or on the ramps is when the batteries run low and need to be replaced. The only good thing about this toy is that you can take the cars off the track and use them on the kitchen floor. This toy is very easy to put together but it ends there, it is impossible to keep together. It is poorly constructed and the cars keep getting stuck going up the ramp. They have supports but they are completely useless. It took me an hour with Mega blocks to construct my own supports and get the toy to work by then my son lost interest in the whole thing and was racing the cars on the kitchen floor. Fasten your seatbelt and let's get shakin'! We're headed for the Shake 'N Bobbles Grip 'N Zip Hazard Highway. But uh oh -- it's still under construction! Set the daredevil driver into a bobble hotrod, position the car at the starting gate, press the driver's head, lower the gate and off he goes. Watch as his grip-wheel car design provides "grip 'n zip" action around the track. These hotrods can climb up hills with ease, cruise around corners and then zip down and around, bobblin' all the way. Have this courageous driver travel the finished highway route. Or, put his daring to the test by pressing the roadside construction button to force him onto the under-construction ramp where there's no avoiding the breakaway bridge that gives way or the pivoting construction crane ramp.
